You need an xs and xml file which is the main part of the map, they go in user-my document-my games-age of empires 3- rm(vanilla) or rm2(warchiefs) or rm3(asian dynasties) depending on which version the map was made for. Those intructions are for the map ui, which shows whilst loading.
What do you think? The disc and steam version are the same. But copying the file to that location did not make the map appear in my list of maps inside the game. The closest thing I have is an extension saying:C:Program Files(x86)SteamsteamappscommonAge of Empires IIIbinartuirandommapthat has.ddt files from all the other maps already in that folder.
